Service Engine Soon - PO181

The Service Engine Soon light came on today on my car. When I checked the codes, PO181 appeared.
On Infinit Help, it says this code indicates a "faulty fuel temperature sensor" circuit, which apparently is inside the fuel tank.

Has anyone else had this issue? It's been real cold here, but its starting to warm up, so I'm wondering if there is a bit of frost in the tank causing issues?

Erase the code...see if it comes back.

The cold cold be an issue. I've seen oddball electrical stuff pop up when it gets cold (0 degrees or colder).

Before replacing parts, i'd just erase the code and see if it reappears (confirming there is an issue) before digging into it further

Ya, thats what I was thinking too. I'll clear the codes tomorrow and see if it reappears. It's been as cold as -28 C so far this winter......warming up to freezing this week.

I just realized I forgot to mention which year my car is:
2005 G35x with 132000 km on it (82500 miles).

So I was on my way home yesterday morning and stopped to get some groceries. When I came back to my car and started up again.....the Service Engine light was out?!?!?
Not that I'm complaining! The faulty fuel temp circuit code must have been a one off event, the computer didn't see it again after a number of starts and turned the light off.

Stupid electrical gremlins!
