I drive 100 miles a day. I change mine every 10k miles. Synthetic oil and best filter I can find a deal on.

135k miles and runs like the day I got it!

I change mine every 7,500 miles with fully synthetic. It's 140k miles now and I have no issues at all. Timing change looks like brand new.

From Wix's website:
Wix # 51358 is the correct filter for a G35 auto or manual.
Wix # 51356 is a slightly taller filter which may fit a 3.5 but is not a direct replacement, I had heard of using a different filter with a slighly larger capacity for better filtering, I'm going to try this filter next time I change my oil.
Wix # 15358 is a filter gasket
Oreill'y list's the 51358 at $11.99 and the 51356 at $7.49, seems like a no brainer
Thanks Gary

I still get oil burning. Was there ever a cure for this?

I change my oil & filter every 4 months and add 1 quart every 3 weeks.

Hmm, pre rev up so shouldn't have the oil consumption issue. Have you figured out where you are losing oil from?

What you're doing is perfect, well almost. Start using WIX filter #51356 and you can go 3.5K to 4K miles between changes. No filter on the market does a better job than WIX! O'Rileys auto parts sell em for $7=
