Hi I have a 2004 with 107,000 miles. Its been happing more frequently but as soon as I start the car, sometimes the VCD and slip lights will stay on and I cannot drive off. I will step on the gas and the engine will not rev. I will turn off the engine and then start it again and sometimes it will do it again, or sometimes the lights will not come on and the car works fine.
Any ideas?? I researched and a lot of people said brake fluid low but I checked it and its in between min and max. Others say brake pads wearing down. Taking it to the dealer on tuesday and dont wanna get ripped off so I wanna be prepared. They also recommended changing spark plugs at 105,000 miles which i why i thinking my car kind of hesitates to start also.
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks!

Don't think its your brakes....

Are you stepping slightly on the gas when starting up? Happened to me once, throwed me a pedal or some throttle body position 'ish code, never did it after, and I had noticed I may have depressed gas pedal when starting...I recall total loss of power too...

This is one of the things that happens with a bad camshaft position sensor. Hook up a scanner and check for codes.

This. More than likely the cause of your issues, might also be a crankshaft position sensor.Originally Posted by 3maxima
