Rattle When Turning Left Slowly

For the past few months I have had this rattle and it's driving me nuts. It only happens when I am gowing slowly and turned sharply to the left, mostly while pulling into driveways or in parking lots. It sounds metallic like a heat shield, but I don't know why it would only happen while turning if it were a heat shield. I have been under the car and everything appears to be solid. If anyone has experienced this and fixed it I would really appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

Brake dust shield? Can you have someone walk alongside the car to help pinpoint the origin?

I had something similar, it sounded about like a piece of rebar being dropped on the ground. Turned out the tire pressure sensor had broken off from the valve. Whenever the wheel was spinning fast enough, centripetal force kept it pushed against the inside of the rim, but when moving slow it would roll around inside making a metal rattling sound.

It's easy to check if this is the case - jack up the offending corner enough that you can spin the tire freely and see if the sound happens.

The pressure sensor survived the abuse, and I was able to re-attach it to the valve with some epoxy, just be sure you prevent airflow through the valve.

Does it happen when you make sharp U turns?

I wonder if our issues are the same. I posted in the RLQT a few days ago about mine. Try this: get up to like 35 mph then put her in 6th gear and try to accelerate. If you hear the rattle, we have the same issue. No idea what it may be but I may be going to the stealership soon.

It doeshappen when making sharp u-turns, but only when turning left, not right. I'll check the tpms sensor idea tonight maybe.

Check the brake dust shield as mustang said. I had the exact same problem and that's what it turned out to be.

If not those things, might be wheel bearings.
