p1757 code and a locked out transmision
So just as I did my belts, and installed my intake, I get a p1757 code for my tranny solenoid
and it feels like its stuck in 4th gear. When I just start it it will drive fine for a minute and then just lock the tranny out. So mechanically my tranny is fine but once the code pops back up then I'm stuck in 4th again. If it wasn't for a strong engine my car would be useless but it can still drive almost normally with traffic in the city![Cool](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
I've looked around on the forums and all I can come up with is I need a new transmission![Dunno](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I haven't done a tranny flush in 60k so I scheduled one with the dealer but I want to know if its even worth flushing the fluid or should I start looking for a good used tranny? Mine has held up to 160k miles and the last 70k
have been hard but it still drives butter smooth and my tranny never clunked or shifted harsh so I hope I can still fix this and keep on driving, I was just going to paint the whole car

My g threw a 1759 its a brake solenoid in the transmission and it had similar symptoms I took it in to infiniti and had the trans serviced and it fixed it. Also from what I understand all those solenoids are on the valve body so i don't think you would have to replace the whole trans

well the deealer was a waste of time they looked at the codes and instant response was to get a new tranny for 3k but they did offer a re manufactured tranny for 1.5k.
I left a car at a good transmission shop and they told me to come back in 2 hours... I came back in 2 hours and they were closed![Icon43](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/icon43.gif)

P1757
My SES light popped on while driving today, and also experienced the loss of power or "4th gear" pull. Checked the codes, and the code p1757 came up, which you seemed to have experienced, hopefully its the solenoids and not the valve body. But just out of curiosity, did the tranny from a coupe fit and fix your issue?

Ah glad to hear, I brought it to 2 different tranny mech's and both said valve body, and so it's at the stealership at the moment getting it replaced for $2300.... Quite a kick to the nuts for having had the car for only a year..

exactly why i just opted for a used trans, if my stock one lasted almost 170k ill be good with this one for a while, on the other hand when i do decide to replace my engine im converting it to a manual one

Just an update on my situation, had the valve body replaced, and all is well. After not driving it for about 2 weeks, it feels like driving a new car.. Total cost from the stealership was $2554.20 after taxes. This included valve body, 3.5 hours of labor, transmission flush, gasket, and diagnostics.
