New member here! Any advice? (pics)

Happy Friday all!

I just picked up an 03.5, full aero, Nav, sport.

After doing some reading here I've noticed a few things to look out for (i.e. brakes). I have 17M and the brakes seem fine right now. Are there any other signs besides noise that would tell me I have a problem?

Any advice on the car in general? This place seems to be the foremost resource for our cars... I'll be checking in on a regular basis to stay updated.

Thanks

congrats--nice car. On the brakes--sound and visual inspection by dealer should cover it. I had some seat popping and they replaced the drivers seat adjuster, some clicking on acceleration-(windows down)--tightened rear axle nuts, and I had a squeak sound from engine--they installed a 2004 AC compressor kit.

Like the full aero kit--every time I see that, I just need to go out and put mine on--but I need to wait 9-10 mos.

Nice color choice.

Thanks Texan1, I'll pay close attention to those things.

Mysubaruimp- I got the car from a high end MB dealership that just wanted to get traffic to their dealership with this car. I paid $24K + 8.25% CA sales tax. Luckily the license was paid a couple weeks ago. The car has 17M and is in brand new condition, seriously, not a freakin scratch and the seats look brand new. I got lucky with this one. They had the car advertised for less than 24 hours before I bought it. It would've been gone the same day if I had passed on it. Try to check out premium car dealerships because they don't really want a "budget competitor" on their lot. Good luck.

Recocgnized the Dealearship

HA HA. I know that dealership where you bought the car at. If I'm not mistaken you bought the car from Fletcher Jones Mercedes in Newport Beach. Funny if this is true that I recognized that dealership since I used to work down the street and pass by that dealership everyday on my way to work. Also I am great friends with the used car sales manager there. Meaning next time you buy a car from that dealership you should ask me to hook you up with a good deal! hee hee.... Good to see you are now a PROUD Infiniti owner and enjoy it!

Yeah, Fletcher Jones in Newport. Small world. I worked on the deal with Ken Benoit. The only non-MB cars they had were an Aston, a Z, and this G35... then all you saw were hundreds of MBs. I'm in WLA but drove down and jumped on this deal. This dealership is huge and fancy.

I may give you a shout sometime, my bro is thinking of picking up an E320 but he looking around to see if he can get a great deal.

Texan --

Can you describe this symptom?
I'm having a very similar issue on my '02 Maxima, and have been unable to diagnose it.
It's driving me FRIGGIN' nuts!!
Only on/off acceleration with the windows down.

HELP!

Ghostrider: Well, the only thing I can tell you is that I noticed it when I was cruising with the windows down. I was in manual mode 1st gear at a stop sign. There was a car parked to my left, the sound bounced of that car and was magnified. I was like what the hell is that clicking---it goes click, click, click--on acceleration squat(on 1st weight transfer to rear). I later was able to duplicate it in regular drive mode, on reverse--every time. Took it to dealer--at first they could not locate or whatever. The second visit, they found it--the rear axle splines were making noise--rear axle nuts needed to be torqued a bit. This took care of the problem for good. Hope that helps.

Son of a Be-atch!!!
That is ExACTLY what mine is doing...albeit in the front-drive version.
I have had more than five pros NOT able to diagnose this malady, and it's been vexing me for a month or two now.
Come to think of it, I had my tires rotated recently and I will bet ANYTHING that using that worthless IMPACT wrench as shops always do, didn't apply adequte or even torque to the to lugs.

I hope this hasn't caused any permanent damage.

I'll be jacking her up tomorrow to toque them babies PROPER!

Thanks for the response Texan!
