New to the forum, need some opinions

Alright, I've been lurking for a while, I just need some opinions.

I had an explorer sport that was totaled a couple weeks ago, my mom ended up letting me buy her 03 sedan from her and she snagged a new q50s, she's had it since it rolled off the truck. It has 204k miles on it, sport and premium package. The car has been meticulously maintenanced and most of the problems that the g's tend to have have been fixed.
The reason I need opinions is because I want to start modding my car but Idk if doing stuff to a car that had 200k on the original motor and transmission is a good idea. The car drives perfect and doesn't seem like anything will go wrong, but im afraid if I start modding (suspension, exhaust, a few other things here and there. I just don't want to do anything to the cart mechanically if there's a significantly better chance of something happening. I'm assuming there are some people with modded high mile sedans. Mine is a 5at btw.

Thanks.

Should be fine if it has been maintained properly. I wouldn't go crazy though with suspension or boost

I'm not really planning on boost as I don't have the money for it, but on the suspension I was more less just thinking of doing 350 Springs.. I don't want/need anything to ridiculous, it's my daily driver. I just want it to have a little more personality than a stock G and for it to be reliable and fun to drive

Depends on the overal condition of the suspension. What has been replaced in 200K?

Lowering the car in general may not hurt things, but putting stiffer springs on 200K mile shocks/struts may be the final straw for them and cause them to finally wear out.

Or you could be perfectly fine? Who knows.

In general if you maintain the car well, and do quality modifications, you should be fine.

Just don't slap a 150 shot of nitrous on it

Suspension mods come with a whole list of supporting mods

Exhaust is a good one that can't hurt much

Maybe go with basic visual mods, projector headlights, maybe a lip, there's tons of pics within this community for good ideas.

The shocks and struts were both replaced about 2 years ago, which is like 40k miles, bushings and all that were replaced as well

If you haven't done it already, I can guarantee you that with 200K on it, you need to replace the bushings EVERYWHERE. They have turned to mush. I recommend Energy Suspension. That alone will set you back $1500-2000 if you have someone else do the work. You must do this before any serious suspension mods are done.

With that out of the way, the first thing I would recommend is sway bars. Hotchkis in particular. Best $350 bux you can spend for what you get. Check vendors on this site for the best prices. Then a set of Tokico "d-spec" adjustable shocks. Coupe springs in the back and Z springs in the front. That will get you 1" of drop, any more than that, and you need camber correction ($$$) IMHO, the only thing better than this set up is coil overs. Then get some rims and rubber.

You can swap the OEM intake tube for a 350z tube for a better intake note/growl. Also look into a coupe midpipe so you have more purr and roar out your exhaust... other than that, lower it a bit, get some 19' Rays if you want it to look stockish but sporty. Upgrade spark plugs (NGK iridium), put a K&N drop in filter for your intake box, upgrade your brake pads, and go slap on a front bumper lip. Should give you a good start. Oh tints don't hurt either... & check your bushings & control arms!
