It's not an opinion. it's a fact, "I have had no trouble" YMMV.

I was referring to this reply

True, but that's a dangerous blanket statement to make as the OP could grab a set of bulbs that DO have higher power draw. In that case, he could potentially damage his system.

Safest thing to do is to assume that if the bulb says 55W on it, then it actually draws 55W. Until one grabs a digital multimeter and measures the current draw, then there's no technical proof the bulb's spec is anything other than stated.

I have run stuff like this for years:

http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/H4-...-pair-NEW.html

They SAY that they are 130 watts, but if you look close they say 130 watts of OUTPUT, the input wattage on the package says 55/65 watts. That's why I say the euro bulb wattage ratings are BS.

Direct copy from the website : Rated at 130/90W

That's 130 watts HIGH beam and 90 watts LOW beam.

Read it and don't just post without reading and UNDERSTANDING what you read.

Lol that's wat I said 90 watt. However looking closer at the pic package it also says "not standard 130watt". Watever that means. But ok so rarely left on high beams are 130 watts. And the lows are the fogs. Do u use them often like u do the hid lows?.

I'm guesing wat ever brand ur using is jus using some marketing to word there bulb differently than wat were used to. . Rather than says "produces more light output than standard bulbs" they put a calculated output figure but the wattage is technically lower. that's why theres 2 wattages on the package. Has nothing to do with Euro vs us spec. Silverstar does something similar but says "50% more output than standard bulb". So its jus marketing. Most bulbs will jus have one rating on the package tho. I guess ur brand took a different approach n that's why u have no issues from years of usage becus ur bulbs are actually the correct wattGe to begin with.

Yes, this time of year I frequently drive an hour in the morning with them on and some time in the evening I run them for the same, depending on the time of year. I run mostly farm to market roads and not main highways where you can't run your high beams much.

Exactly what I have been saying.

As for the Euro spec, yes it does. Most of these bulbs only draw 55/65watts actual, but they say the "light output" is equal to 90/120 watts. So naturally people think they are brighter. That is a function of the color temp (how we perceive the amount of light) and the actual lumens.

That is also a function of advertising.
