the RWD and the X compression rods are shaped differently. I have attempted to install a RWD CR on my X and no go. Simply will not fit as stated above.
I still have the AWD suspension, but have modified the CV axles so just the wheel speed sensor ring and bearing support are left. From what it sounds like, the CV axle is not the interference point unfortunately. There is a huge price difference between aftermarket RWD components and OEM AWD components... Damn.

Not compatible, I got the part and it did fit, but just like Yosip1115 said (and I can verify this) there is virtually less than 2mm of clearance between the cv boot and balljoint that attaches under the the axle boot.
I didn't notice that and I tore up my boot. It looked like a grease bomb went off. Spent the better part of a day just cleaning up everything before I was able to get my tools on to tear everything apart. Ordered a compression rod from O'reilly's - oreillyauto.com and it looks like the right part and actually has the same density and heft to it. will put it on sometime this weekend. I had to drive with the cv boot busted for a bit before I could get a chance to clean everything up and take apart everything.
What a F#@&*N MESS that was !!!!

The O'reilly ones are much more afordable at $85 each comparing to ~$230

Thank you for the recommendation. So the RWD rods will fit my application after all, cool.

That post really benefited everybody!!

For the record the RWD arms are on my 05x, since I don't have CV boots they fit perfectly.
