END RESULT: my manual mode still does not function. I had to put everything back together with the original and hope that i can return the one from ebay. What the issue is I DO NOT KNOW. I called inskip and the labor is 119 per hour and they said it take longer than that to determine. I posted pics up in hopes that it will help other G drivers that have this issue that might be the assembly that is damaged, in my case no its something else. I think i'll live without the manual mode i cant afford to break bank at the dealer

After replacing a shifter assembly, a valve body, and trying a tiptronic reset I found on YouTube nothing worked on my 06 G35. Only after I got a valve body upgrade from Level 10, my Transmission builder told me that the problem was with the cluster not reading the signal from the tiptronic switch. After my cluster replacement there wasn’t anymore problems going in and out of manual mode.

I found out the hard way but when buying a used cluster make sure the cluster is going to work with your G35 because there are variations between years and if or not your car has navigation.

Thanks for this. My manual mode is intermittent as well. I find if it doesnt go, ill shut the car off and turn it on, it will work again. My gauges dimmer also flickers at night so s cluster swap may be next on my list.

I’m having the same issue idk what it is or if it could be one of the 2 clips that are right on the tranny pan?! I just changed my filter and added new the pan was a b**** to get right considering the torque spec and all but now it’s also acting like it doesn’t want to shift into 5th if it is at all?? When I run 80 my rpms are at 3000 and it seemed like it was lower before but I could be wrong!! On top of all of that I noticed the rear main seal is leaking so now I’m really in trouble!!! I need all the help I can get with this one!

I turn 3,000 rpm @ 80mph.
Check your fluid level - It should be checked @ operating temp on level ground with the engine idling in Park or Neutral.
Are you talking about 'clips' inside or outside the transmission pan???

im talking about the ones outside of the pan there are 3 of them all together but you have one on each side and one in the corner on driver side!

My MM mode behaves the same. Sometimes it doesnt work but if I shut the car off and back on a few times, it starts working eventually.

Im still doing some more experimenting on this.....hopefully I can figure out exactly what the issue is.

Can you post a picture of what you're referring to? I'm having a hard recalling any clips on the side of the pan.

Since its intermittent I would check all the ground points. Since someone mentioned that the cluster can be an issue perhaps check the ground points in the interior?

Ive been leaving the key in the ON position for about 10 seconds before I crank the engine. I’ve tried it a few times already and so sar my MM mode has worked everytime.

But my car did something today it hadn’t done before....the manumatic stopped working mid-ride. Usually once it was working, it will keep working until I turn the car off. It never stopped working mid-ride before....until today

Starting this week it has also been messing up while trying to shift up or down while driving. It won’t shift sometimes. It never did that before.

Anyway....gonna keep experimenting.

Well, I left the key in the ON position for 10 seconds today before starting the engine but my MM failed to work. So that theory is out the door.
