I feel your pain. My 05, less than a week old, less than 500 miles, just got hit by a big a$$ rock thrown up by a passing car. Impact on the hood caused three chips, followed by two impacts on the window causing, you guessed it, 2 chips in window on drivers side. I guess it could be worse, I could be replacing a window.

Paul

I'm not sure about the touch up paint, my experiance has been spotty with touch up paint, some good some bad.

I'd take it back to the place it was painted and ask for help. Is it possible that the new paint didn't adhere properly? I chip the size of a penny is huge. I'm imagining the paint "flaked-off" where the rock hit.

What cale said. Take it back and ask if they can do touch up for you, they will be able to blend it right in.

Get it fixed right away (your insurance usually covers this for free). These cars are notorious for allowing little chips to turn into large cracks. Happen to me. Must have something to do with how rigid the car is built.

If paint came off the size of a penny that's no rock chip, its flaking. It can either be caused by bad prep work (most likley not sanding well enough)or by poor paint quality. Its easy to tell about the sanding part, just look in the flaked off area and see if there are sanding markes there. Any way the shop that painted it should fix it for free!
