Question WOT lower power than 80% throttle ? Am I crazy?

Short version:
2006, g35 sedan, 5at, NO mods 90k-odo .. Just bought it about 3 months ago.

*if* you mash it, leave it pegged on the floor it revs and runs like hell. sweet... but I noticed that when I let off the gas only a smidge.. I feel more push back.

Is the WOT limited in the sedans on purpose ? Is the limited open throttle I keep reading about ? AFM different under wot ?

..the longer version

From a standstill, pushing the accelerator down 'quickly' but not a full on 'stomp' the car launches off nicely and goes through the gears.. but right before speed limit (sub-60mph) obviously you let off the gas.. *that* very moment I let off the gas to stop acceleration I note that there is a measurable push back (g force) *increase* .. until I am around 40"% throttle..

now I thought I was crazy at first, but I have been reproducing it pretty much at will.

I have no instrumentation to apply so do not know the particulars .. but I am wondering if anyone else has noticed the same thing on the sedans with the 5at.. is this a afm thing based on the WOT? Is this the limited throttle protection I keep reading about ??

1st time poster... be gentle

I think what you are experiencing is that less than WOT is where the peak torque band is.

There is a restriction on the electronic throttle from the factory, one of the most noticeable improvements from an Uprev reflash/ tune is syncing the electronic throttle so you can achieve true WOT at all speeds. This can be done with both a dyno tune, and the etune route
