K&N Part Number for 2005 G35

K&N's web site doesn't list a drop in air filter for the 2005 G35, the part number they have listed for the 2004 is 33-2031-2.

Has anyone put a K&N in the 2005's.

I would bet nothing has changed about the stock airbox and filter and I haven't seen nor heard anything to that affect. You should be able to use the 2004 model K&N filter in your 2005 car.

You could find out if the stock air filter is the same for 04 and 05 fromInfiniti. If it is, the 04 K & N drop in should be fine.

I thought about doing that too. I heard it won't have much of a performance gain if at all. Let me know after you put it in. I want to know if it makes the car's humming noise a little better at higher rpm. If it is, then I'll probably do it just for the sound since the sedan's exhaust doesn't sound nearlyyyyyyy as good as the coupe.

I have a K&N drop in in my 2004 and it does not do anything for sounds. The exhaust note is still the same.

If you want a better sound, get a ZTube installed.

I put the 33-2031-2 in my '05 6MT. No problems with the install since the dimensions were the same. I also installed the Z-Tube. It took a total of about 5-8 minutes to do both. Very simple and a better intake sound on full throttle.

Oh well, there goes that idea.

Maybe I'll consider the Z-tube one day or do you mean the Z-tube + pop charger?. For me that Z-tube's couple horses won't make much of a difference but I think the sedan's exhaust is not throathy enough. So I am sure with more sucking in air on the Z-tube the car should sound better even if it's not any faster. For now, stock is fine with me. Just don't want to hear anything when I have to bring car to the dealer.
