Am I looking at the cause being something entirely different now, like flipmode007 refers to about the AMPLIFIER CONTROL AIR CONDITIONER 277601NM6D? Has it been that thing the whole time? I guess I'll try to find one and replace it next. Sheesh

Try that I have told a lot of ppl on youtube also and they were happy, they had change it and not spend so much money lol. when I go to a scrap yard I take them cuz here in canada its $400 for that part new

Verify the sending units are sending out the proper 4-40 or 4-80 ohm resistance at the pump harness, really easy to check. It's covered in section DI - Driver Information of the FSM.

You might have a sending unit failure now, but had the instrument cluster issue previously.

https://www.nicoclub.com/archives/in...e-manuals.html

The AC Auto Amp is also a possible culprit if you have proper resistance signal and a functioning instrument.

You should also check resistance at the pin on the harness for the instrument cluster, I can't remember the pin number but I think it's in section DI as well. That way you know it's not a wiring issue between the pump and the cluster.

I've replaced both sending units even though the originals were cleaned and showing the proper resistance. I didn't test the new ones individually, but they didn't change the misbehavior of the gauge after I installed them, nor did the re-solder of the gauge cluster resistor points. I haven't tested the resistance at the pump harness or the instrument cluster pin yet. Thanks for the tips, I'll certainly do so since I'm running out of components to replace. Such a squirrely issue, but I'm determined to flush this thing out in the open one way or another. More soon...

Hey flipmode, where the heck is this AMPLIFIER CONTROL AIR CONDITIONER 277601NM6D located? Can't seem to find it on my 2006 sedan.

2006 it's behind the clock/compass. It's the top AC display and the controller is the white box behind it.

I'm real confused then. There's nothing behind the AC/clock display unit (just a metal frame) and it's not behind the radio either. I replaced the head unit a couple years ago and have it all pulled out.

Ok the display itself, with the compass and temperature display, literally right behind those LCD screens is a big white plastic box that's all part of it and that is the AC Auto Amp. It's got a big 40 pin connector harness on the front of it at the bottom right corner.

Ok, so the whole unit then. That's 27760AC75A not 277601NM6D. Got one ordered.

It looks like those are both the same item just for different years of vehicles. 27760AC75A shows as compatible with my 2006 so it should work for 2005-2007 coupe.

27760AC75A replaced and the issue/misbehavior remains.
To recap what I've done so far:
- Both fuel senders replaced, brand new.
- Cluster re-soldered in accordance with this post.
- 27760AC75A AC Auto Amp just replaced, albeit used.
Anyone have any other ideas? Meanwhile, I'm down to meticulously testing the wiring and such according to the FSM's. This is ridiculous.

If the sending unit has correct resistance to the instrument cluster I would source a replacement cluster to test. There may be more resistors that need replaced beyond the ones listed in this thread.
