Help with a jingling sound

Hello new to the forum and Infinitis. Bought a G35 2004 sedan. All was good till today. I have a sound coming from right rear that sounds like a chain bouncing on the pavement or keys jingling against the pavement that has me stumped. Took off rear wheel saw dust shield touching and thought that was it, nope.

Took off caliper and bracket, pads were good no metal contact there, checked nuts bolts etc all tight. Could this sound be coming from the axle shafts? Gonna try running it on jack stands tomorrow to see if I can pin point it. Thanks, Chris.

It is the X models.

Check the heat shields on the cats too, make sure they're not too rusty and loose. Good luck on the search!

I wasn't able to get my car on the jackstands in my dirt driveway so I decided to take it to Nissan so they could run it on the hoist. Mechanic first thought it was something with brakes, told him I already removed and inspected everything there. He took off the rotor, caliper and bracket and ran it and the noise appeared.

The noise is coming from where the axle meets the hub only while spinning, sounds like loose change or metal ringing around a bowl. Tech has never heard a noise like that for axle or bearing, neither have I. It has to be the bearing or the axle itself that is producing noise, Nissan wants to take cowboy approach and put parts on it till it's fixed. Could be 1400 out the door after bearing, hub, seal, axle and labour. I will do it myself for that price .

Does anyone in Canada know a place to purchase these parts(canadian supplier) and exactly what they are called? I know hub, bearing, seal but wonder if their worded differently. I was going to go to NAPA but also was wanting to look elsewhere. Anyone also know typically what these parts cost and any recommendation on bearings is welcome. Thanks. I figure 300-400 axle (rebuilt) 300 for hub 100 for bearing 20 for seal?

It was the axle. Changed it out and noise was gone. Axle appears good. I think it cost me 200 instead of the 1400 the dealership was going to charge lol
