I'm a former owner of an 03 sedan. It had the typical known issues but never consumed any oil.

Long story short, I was hit and the car was written off. Looking for a replacement has been hard, the 03s and 04s are in terrible condition. Up to now I've avoided the 05s and 06s due to their reputation for consuming oil.

So I guess my question is, do ALL 05s and 06s have the oil consumption problem?

 

You have no consumption, fair consumption, and chronic consumption. 2/3 chance.

No. Marked oil pan and short term oowners are two signs.

 

My 5AT consumes oil.

Slowly gotten worse, but now I'm adding 2 qts per oil change.

150K on the car. It's pretty much a beater to me at this point, so I don't care anymore.

 

My 06 6MT Coupe has 162K miles and I still only add about half a quart around 3k on my 5k oil change intervals. Bought it just shy of 70k miles and hasn't really changed. So NO, not all revup engines consume oil.

I actually know 2 people with 04s that burn oil.
