Torn intake coupler

Hello
So today I found a tear in my intake coupler. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix/replace it? Also will this throw any codes?

Recently I been having issues with my SES light coming on and off, code is P1084 EXHAUST VALVE TIMING VOLTAGE CIRCUIT BANK 2. I am wondering if this is maybe the cause of the light. I already tried replacing the sensor but it doesnt appear to fix the problem.

As of right now, I've duct taped it as a temporary fix until i decide on what to replace it with.

High temp silicone will do just fine. Really any glue that is slightly pliable and wouldn't fail under 200deg heat.

Really guys? JB weld and glue for an intake coupler?

OP, yes intake & vacuum leaks can cause some weird issues. You can try to find a replacement coupler, or buy an OEM Z-Tube. The OEM z-tube has the couplers built in.

Cheap fix

Replacement couplers are cheap though yes... Try infinitipartsusa dot com.

It is a temporary fix so the op can drive the car, hopefully without the lights/codes, till they can get a new part.

Thank you for all your inputs.
I called infiniti and they do not sell the coupler piece by itself.
Option 1: try to find an oem ztube locally

Option 2: Go for the Stillen Ztube. I read a couple other threads saying the oem coupler would need to be reused to work with the Stillen Ztube. Can anyone confirm this?

The picture in here shows a built-in coupler.

Option 3: http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=3929
Has anyone tried this?

Z1 is reputable, I have ordered from them before. The couplers will be cleaner than the accordian oem design.

The Stillen Ztube WILL need your OEM couplers, so scratch that option (I've had one before).

Looking at that Z1 intake, I bet you could just buy a silicon coupler and use that on your stock intake. Measure the MAF housing to be sure, but I think it's 3". Something like this: http://amzn.com/B004NYGSLE

Was it used? The STILLEN ztube needs to reuse the G couplers. The 350Z OEM ztube has the couplers built into the one piece design.

Here's a comparison, of the TWO different things both called a "ztube," if anyone is confused:

STILLEN ztube:

350Z OEM ztube:

You're right. The Stillen Ztube would need to be paired with the oem couplers which I need to replace. The OEM Ztube comes with the coupler attached to it.
I was really contemplating about picking up the Z1 tube because it comes with silicone couplers which I think is a better design and material. The OEM couplers look like they can tear easily if not put on correctly.
Anyways, I just purchased a used oem z tube from a member on this forum yesterday for a good price. Should be here Friday. Thank you for all your help!
