Luv my 03 Sedan but hate slow rpms

3rd day of owning my 03 6mt sedan that I bought from a forum member and love the looks handling etc. get compliments everyday so far. But damn it so slow to get to the power band above 4000rpms! Then it hits like crazy. I've owned a street/track E46 with lightweight flywheel so I know what that mod will do. But I'm not thrilled about the chatter at idle from said mod that I hear from members here report as well as the Z forums report also. My E46 chatter was not bad at all. Any RECENT flywheels work yet? Searches here show rather old flywheel posts. Or any other way to help get there quicker? I'll live with it if need be but would be nice.

Here's what engine mods are FYI:
motordyne 5/16th spacer
kinetix V5 plenum
Injen CAI short setup, have long tube
Front strut tower brace.
Grounding cables
Stillen Headers
Stillen 2nd Gen catback exhaust

All the mods you have on your car will move the HP/TQ band to the upper end. A stock car will have much more on the bottom.

Looks like you're just missing some HFC's and a solid tune.

And I always thought having an aftermarket (upper) plenum is redundant with the spacer ?

Could he be talking about the "ISO" spacer (gasket) for the lower plenum? How do you put a 5/16" spacer on Kinetix?

Not sure about that because I drove an 06 Coupe 6mt and it was just as slow through the lower rpms.

Yes I need to get this car tuned up because it was sitting for months because seller was deployed. Forgive this Newb but what ar HFC's and what would you consider a proper tune? This car was maticulously maintained by owner by Inifinti and Nissan dealers with all receipts.

You can always add on a light weight crank pulley and also get a CF driveshaft to free up HP and your RPM will rev up faster

High Flow Cats. They replace your current restrictive catalytic converters for something more free flowing. The main tune people get is Osiris (Only tune?). A 'proper' tune is going to a certified tuner and they'll dyno/tune the car. The alternative is the e-tune where they log your data and send you a emailed file to upload to your ECU.

Or you can get a 2-4 pound heavier (Versus carbon fiber) aluminum drivershaft for half the price. More noise but more savings

Yeah I see where you're coming from. As long as he's not pushing any major power (F.I.) then aluminum works. To each their own.

I asked my son (Magnaflow) about this last weekend and he told me
that when you go in for a smog check they're looking under cars with
mirrors....doesn't that suck! Even though our cats are not visible because
they're kinda tucked up, they can still nail your a$$ with mirrors. Swap the
OEM cats back when you go for a smog check....isn't that the only solution?
Either that or you gotta know somebody....you know inside....HAHA
Quote straight from Gary in an older thread LOL.

Being located in Cali is worse. They have some weird rule about not even being allowed to get a CAT other than OEM from the thread I grabbed Garys quote from.

https://g35driver.com/forums/souther...flow-cats.html

It's from 08, not sure if it's still relevant.
