20 inch tire size & offset on 2004 G35X
Hi guys ,
I'm new in this forum and hope I post this in the right section.
I bought some 20" wheels for my G35X and I'm wondering about a couple of things.
Some specs about the new wheels :
Width : 20X8
Offset : 24
1- Will 245/35/20 tires in the front will rubbing ? I have heard that is possible. I'm not lowered now but maybe later , it's gonna be ok ?
2- Also right now I have stock OEM 17" wheels with 215/55/17 tires with an offset of 40 (If I'm not wrong) , with the new offset of 24 , that means the outer position (position of the outside edge of the wheel) extend an extra 29mm ? (Source : 1010tires. Com)
3- Last , because it's an AWD , it's better to have the same width (not staggered) of wheels and the same tire size ?
Let me know
Thanks in advance ,
Roberto

I cant say for sure but i dont think you will, you might poke out a little like a lowrider
You should be good without lowering, and if you do lower, you should be able to get away with it but might need some camber help.
You can have staggered tires on AWD but and this is a BIG BUT, there are certain sizes you can you use and you can only use those tire sizes. If you want to run all the same width, its a lot easier and possibly cheaper.
I'm running 235/45/18 with 265/40/18 on the rear, no issues. Been running this setup for 4 years or more. When my rears wear down, i might go 235/45 all the way around.

Same diameter is what counts.
Ensuring the front wheels and rear wheels turn at a 1:1 ratio is key to avoid potential damage to the transfer case. It's easier to do with the same size tire front and rear, but if you are careful about tire size selection you can get away with staggered widths provided the diameter is pretty dang close
