Engine service soon

So I bought a 2003 Infiniti g35 sedan the engine service soon light is on I took with me a scanner and it has three codes 1•Catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1
2•oxygen sensor circuit slow response bank 2 sensor 2
3•dtc definition not found see manual
The car has straight pipe well that's what the guy told me and I decide to buy it
Are this codes costly to repair?

Aftermarket exhaust parts that delete the catalytic converter often throw these codes. Often times, the only way to get the codes to go away to replace the stock exhaust piping.

The codes are created by having the cat absent, which normally burns any excess fuel vapor that left the combustion chamber. That unburned fuel vapor is known as hydrocarbons, which is bad for the enviroment, aka bad emissions. Those codes are from your car sensing that the cat isnt there is therefore creating poor emissions.

Ok so if I reinstall the cat the codes would go away?

What are the code numbers?

To make a long story short, if you want to get rid of the codes (and in some state you need to do this to get an inspection sticker) you'll need to reinstall the stock exhaust components and install the O2 sensors (if they were removed).

Basically you need to fix the original owners mistake.

I have a warranty $100 without it $350. My slip light and vdc was on too. Sensor fixed everything! If you dont fix it the sensor gets worse and will stall out and be hard to start. Take it to infiniti your car is worth fixing!

Those codes do not suggest cam sensor...they suggest o2 sensor issues.

Since you already said the car is running straight exhaust....you know what you need to do here.

I don't know what that was autocorrected from...

Consider trying OEM catalytic converters.
