gas needle problem

Ok so last night i got home and had my gas light on, didnt get gas in a while. I got up this morning the same, went to the gym got into the car and the needle was showing i had a little over half a tank. Drove about 15mins later and watched the needle slowly drop back down to where the light comes on. Shut it off then turned it on about 2 hours later, same thing back an above half. So then i drove to the gas station it dropped to little less than half. Went to put gas at 20bucks it started clicking so i just kept slowly puttin gas a little more. Turned car on shows 3/4 and after it slowly went down to half, which i believe is around there. Any clue whats going on? Or what could it be

Wow I was JUST getting on here to make an identical thread. My cars gas gauge starts acting funny after I get below half a tank, it then starts to read very inaccurately.
