Just use a quality motor oil. My dealership says they use Castrol synthetic blend 5W30, which is what I prefer to use. 100% synthetic is overkill if you are changing your oil every 3750 miles.

If synthetic oil was a bad thing in a new car ....please explain why...Corvettes, Vipers, Ferrari, and etc. are SHIPPED with Mobil1 from the get-go? I remember when Harley said they would void your warranty if you used synthetic oil in their "air cooled' engines (another myth about using synthetic was that you can't use it in air cooled engines...lol) Well, it turns out that it's OK now ...now that Harley came out with their own brand synthetic???? LOL. Mercruiser (GM based boat engines) said the same thing.....UNTIL they came out with Merc.Syn...LOL. I switched over to Syn. the second the break-in period was over. I've been running synthetic in everthing I've owned for OVER twenty years....including my fleet of tractor trailers ( 6 auto transport rigs) every custom bike I've ever built, all my boats, and all my cars. I always switched over after any specified break-in period BUT, as I previously stated, Syn. oil already comes in many BRAND NEW high end performance cars. The only semi-true fact about Synthetic oil is that once you go synthetic it's best to stay with it and NOT TO MIX IT with regular "Dino" oil. I also change it every 5,000 miles with a oil analysis done at every other change. Don't worry...it's a GOOD thing....JBX

No, it's just plain ol' "Dino" (dinosaur) oil. If you choose not to do it yourself (shame on you) most dealerships offer Synthetic oil as well (for a "little more" LOL) JBX

I have 14000 miles on my car..ive been using castrol gtx (non sythetic)..im waiting untill 15000 miles to switch to Mobil 1...Its better just to wait till atleast 15000 miles because sythetic oil is very lubricating...not too good for a brand new engine..there is no harm in using normal oil for the first few thousand miles anyways

Wait'll you have your break-in mileage done then go for either the Mobil1 or Castrol Full Syn. with a K&N oill filter (my preference). Make sure you put on a new drain bolt crush washer too. JBX

JustBrilliantX, where do you get the drain bolt crush washer? Dealer? Online? etc? My dealer is not too close to me, so I don't really want to go there just to get some washers if I could just order them online. Thank.

Just kidding....As I stated above, many/most of your highline/premier performance cars today come with Mobil1 as their initial oil. I personally (after driving OVER 2,000,000 road and off road miles with synthetic oil) feel qualified in making suggestions about it. I recommend you start running it at you first oil change since all your 'break-in' mileage is more than done at that point (1,400 miles). I also feel it's fine to change it every 5,000-7,500 mile with oil analysis done every other change. Cool? JBX

Guys!
There are many myths out there. On of the biggest automotive myths is that you need to break-in an engine on non-synthetic oil. Totally untrue.
My company builds racing engines and we break-in our engines (on a dyno) using Mobil 1 full synthetic oil. If we break-in our $27,000 to $40,000 engines on synthetic oil rest assured that you will be just fine. The ONLY difference is that the synthetic oil lubricates better so the rings will take a little longer to "seat" and the bearings will take a little longer to break-in. Other than that there is no difference.
Your best bet is break-in your car according to Infiniti's direction and when you get to say 1500 to 3000 miles change over to synthetic.
