spark plug tube seals/valve covers ??/[FIXED]

after starting the work to replace the gaskets on the valve covers due to a leak.

Having everything already removed and open . My dad tells me you should buy the spark plugs to replace them since the engine is completely accessible. So i said ok cool. Then some old hoses as well.

Then he tells me find the seals that go on the valve covers that prevent oil to go into the spark plugs all while im doing my parts run (during a sunday so dealer is closed) after finally finding them i get back before i get a chance to even check the spark plugs to see if one is leaking he said just change them right now .. he starts trying to remove one seal from the valve cover and by the time i noticed he was doing that he had already somewhat destroy a seal at this time the seal had to go. He got it out completely but when it came time to replace it the new seal doesnt fit.

When looking for a "how to " i find that the seals come stuck in the valve covers.

does anyone know how i can finish this job without having to rear ended by the dealer on a new valve cover ??

Order new valve covers.

Your only other option is to get that "kit" that requires taking a hole-saw to your valve covers and gluing in new replacement gaskets.

Im thinking of doing this since its only one seal that was removed but how secure if done right is this. Anyone that ever did this did they later report any problems ?

Im going to check my spark plugs and see if they have any oil them just in case i actually did need new covers.

No idea on longevity. Here's the vendor thread, even includes instructions. https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...asket-set.html

Not sure, you'll have to do some additional research on non-OEM creative fixes.

I did pretty much as that guide says but without using the same tool to do the hole. I used a smaller drill to make the hole the size of the FelPro seals. Made sure it was perfect size then used silicone let it dry all day. put everything back and so far so good.
