Sold my 6mt G35 Sedan for a Q

I was looking at a used 2012 - 2013 G37S and saw a post about $10k off Q40. I called my brother who had previously purchased a brand new 2013 from Grubbs Infiniti. He was able to start with a brand new Q40 that was MSRP at $39,795 and negotiate it down to $28,500 with 17 miles. They wanted $898 for accessories pack which is tint, wheel locks, and door 3m guard. We asked them to remove it or loose the sale. In the end we agreed to pay $300 for the accessory pack since it came with the vehicle. I was willing to pay $200 since all I cared about was a tint. No one is going to steal my factory 17" wheels and door handle guard is not something I have done on other vehicles.

I passed on all the extras in the finance office and talked them down in rate to what my local banks or credit unions would have offered me. I will probably get the extended warranty from Infiniti Scottsdale to save money compared to local dealer. I sold my old 2005 G35 6mt Sedan for $5k to my best friend and used that as down payment. I will use the Q40 for a couple years and then give it to wifey. I will trade her vehicle in for an SUV probably a QX80. LOVE THAT BEAST!!!!

2015 Q40 Pearl White, Graphite interior, Nav, Moonroof, Illuminated Kick panels and 17 miles.

I will still be on G35driver but not as active. I will be hanging out more on myG37 and usually spend most of my time on DFW G35 Facebook club. My350z has some of my local friends and I like to lurk on that forum too. I still have a sour taste with Nissan/Infiniti over the whole rev-up incident. Thanks to the $11.3K discount on a new Q40, I am willing to give them another chance.

Yep, rebadged as Q40. Fourth pic shows it officially. Agree with you on the QX80. Ugh.

Congrats!

Rather than a QX80, you could pass the Q40 is to your wifey and then trade in the SUV for a QX60 with the 3.0T *drools*

Not a whole lot of options available for the Q40. I remember the G37 had a pretty decent options list before, now it's pretty cut and dry. I'm surprised it's carried on so long. When is the official last year? 2016? or 2015?

I've seen a couple on the road. The 3.7 badges on the fender are a dead giveaway.

Sorry, not sorry, I like the QX80 as well. Full size living room on wheels that can tow something every now and then with much opulence, yes please.

I think 2015 is the last year, I don't see them listed on the "configure your car" page on Infiniti's website anymore.

Was hoping this was a Q50 post, those look so nice in person.

I jus saw the updated/current version of the qx80 (i think that's wat it was) it looked a lot better than the ugly curvy version. The one I saw had more straight edges .

6MT is hard to find and those that have them hold on to them. I went from a 6MT to a 7sp auto in my new Q50S. I don't mind it too much, I haven't really had a chance to shake it out in the Texas Hill Country yet. I want to get more used to the paddle shifters (rev matching is cool) before I take it up there. I miss the MT a lot, but all I have to do is crawl back in the G35 and get my fill.

Congrats. I looked at a used Q50 but did not care for the steer by wire steering.

Transition was amazing for me. The clutch/pedal bracket is really wonky on the G and even after the clutch bracket replacement with RJM it was not the most friendly manual vehicle I have driven. I have used paddle shifters in other vehicles and they were really cool for about a week and then I just let the transmission do all the work. I want straight 6mt or straight auto. Half way in between clickers/shifters or SMG does not do it for me.

I would like a X5 but from infiniti. Twin Turbo FX37 400HP would be sweet. I would skip the QX80 and go with that next

Found the purchase agreement which shows the $11,300 discount along with the $898 accessory pack for $300 (Tint, Wheel Locks, and 3m Door guards). The rate that was negotiated was lower than what was shown on the purchase agreement. They always have room in every part of the transaction.

Hopefully this will help someone out with their negotiations. I can see there is 88 Q40 left in stock (83 this morning and 82 tonight) in the nation ranging from $31k (discounted)(cheapest now is $33.3K) to $41.9k (MSRP). Most dealers are showing $5k - $8k in discounts but you could have them offer as much as $12k in discounts. I was able to negotiate $11,300 off the purchase price and $600 off the accessory pack for a total of $11.9K in savings. Also they threw in one extra tank of gas and one year maintenance plan (3 oil changes and 1 tire rotation).

Also took some pictures during vehicle delivery and put some miles on it over the weekend. Love the changes from the Rev-Up motor to the VHR motor.

Edit: To get the best deal you would need VPP and finance through Infiniti for the dealer to get max rebates/casback. You can refinance in 6 months and dealership does not care but before 6 months it will cause a charge-back from Infiniti and the dealer get's pissy when they loose money...lol

I recently returned my 13 g37 sedan to get a 15 q50 but must say it was a fine car. Plus getting 12k off MSRP must have sweetened the deal. Amazing how much you saved.

I have no issues driving my mt. I don't understand the issue people have. I love it.
