Quote: ahha I know. I just had these sitting in the garage from my previous car. Spent less than $100 to refinish them which is way cheaper than a new set of wheels and tires.
previous was a honda?

not sure if that was a shot at me or not lol.

it was a 2006 mustang and I didn't want to go to 18's or 19's on that car.

The finish on the wheels looks nice. What paint/equipment did you use? I tried to refinish my stock 17s for my winter setup as they were hammered from the previous owner. Fixed all the gouges and rash but the paint finish didn't come out great so I'm going to try again. Thinking about trying gunmetal since the hypersilver didn't turn out great.

IllaNoize, I don't have any decent pics of my car. It's a very stock-looking daily driven OB sedan. It has a completely rock blasted front bumper and is usually dirty.

It's actually just Duplicolor Wheel paint and Wheel Clear coat. While refinishing if I had to file to fix the curb rash and i was down to bare metal, I used duplicolor high fill primer.

It is all in the prep(as everybody says) but also in the finishing work too. here was my process

Step 1) wash wheels/repair rash
step 2) Wash Wheels again
Step 3) Wetsand with 400
Step 4) Wash Wheels
Step 5) use Wax and Grease Remover
Step 6) Apply primer to bare metal areas (3 coats)
Step 7) dry sand all the primered spots(turned out to be the whole wheel) with 2000
Step 8) Wash wheels
Step 9) Wax and Grease Remover
Step 10) 3 coats of Colour (2 cans)
Step 11) 3 coats of clear (2 cans)
Because of the way the wheels are designed there was overspray in areas on the wheel surface itself so it was very grainy in some areas like the inner lip.
Step 12) Wait 7 days for the paint and clear coat to fully cure

Step 13) Wetsand 2000 Grit
Step 14) WASH WHEELS!!!!
Step 15) use my new Mothers power cone and liberal amounts of compound(remember to "prime" the power cone...go watch ammonyc's youtube channel about priming the pad) and polished.

Step 16)...did I forget to mention wash the wheels!?

Step 17) get yelled at by the wife for coming to bed at 4am every weekend night for the last two weeks

It's just spray paint so it's not perfect but i love it. I'm glad I waited for the paint to cure before I polished the wheels cause the power cone caught on the wheel weird a few times and the drill struck the spokes a few times and there was no paint damage. had I done that right after it was dry or after a day or two before it fully cured and hardened there's no doubt I would've had to redo it.

Got these bad boys the other day (05 350z struts and springs). Now I need coupe rear struts and springs for the Z/G drop. My friend has some but he's waiting to get coilovers so I gotta wait for him

I hated the peeling paint so I repainted it. It came out okay.

definitely looks better now that its not peeling

not a fan of dip simply because of the high possibility of peeling. I'd rather work with paint but I get that's not for everybody.

I actually painted it using the dupli color gloss black from autozone. I think it was actually painted before too. I'm having an urge to plasti dip my wheels a metallic titanium color while I save for actual wheels though. I'm gonna work on a photoshopped pic to see how it'll look.

Did an oil change and was gonna install new spark plugs since I hit 100k but got lazy and cold lol My y pipe also started to rattle... I wish we sedan guys had a bigger aftermarket exhaust option like the coupe and v36 sedans.

Been wiring these up and they have been a pain lol. Quad demon rgb eyes and 70mm starry night halos. I'm sure I may the first to put these on a first gen g35 but it's not that important. Just happy to have something I haven't seen on a g35 before. I got to the g35 party kinda late lol
