I bought mine new in 2006 and then in 2013 I bought a Land Rover LR4 and my Dad took the G... well he is thinking about not needing it anymore and I want it back. It's at 97k miles and in pretty fantastic shape still. So im back on Driver, going to learn what I missed in the last few years and catch up on what maintenance I might expect to be doing... but now that I am a Land Rover owner I imagine getting the G back will be a maintenance dream (I.E. MUCH less and MUCH cheaper).

Old picture. Used to be lowered in EIbach progressive springs (still have them) and Stillen exhaust and whatnot, but now its more stock other than an intake. Still on the factory 17" chrome wheels. They look tiny, but work. I need some recommendations on summery performance tires for those 17"s. (I run snows in the winter)

Removed the old man pinstripes on my car. The original owner had it done at Sewell Infiniti (Dallas) and they paint them on. And in some sections, a ton of paint.
Used Optimum Hyper Compound and CarPro denim pads and my Zen Tool (21 mm throw DA polisher) to remove them, then followed with Optimum Primer Polish and Optimum Gloss Coat. Looks so much better!
While I was doing all this to my G35, I figured I'd wash my Accord too. Not bad for 226,400 miles. It's had Optimum Gloss Coat on it since July 2015.
Scott I guess I'm the oddball but I like my pinstripes. However your cars look amazing as always.
Konsole, I also drive a GTO for my daily and recently replaced my favorite Bridgestone's (discontinued) with a set of of BF Goodrich gForce Comp 2 AS UHP tires and can't say enough great things about them. Having never had AS tires before I was leery to buy them even though they have fantastic reviews all over the web. Hell in a comparison test on Tire Rack of 27 UHP AS tires they've come in 1st and 2nd place the last 3 tests. Best part, the barely cost over $100 each for 17's. Check them out you won't be disappointed, the GTO certainly isn't.

Thanks, Those Comp2's do look good. I have Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric on it now, but they are crazy expensive. I got them after some recall on the other tires I had at the time, Goodyear Eagle RS-A I think. But I am not paying ~$250 a tire for those again.
If you need any more convincing just troll the internet for more reviews. Everywhere I looked they were highly recommended. In the GTO's size, 245/45/17, IIRC they were $122/ea. It's nearly impossible to find any kind of UHP tire with the Comp 2's performance and price in one package.
Fresh wash today and installed my VRS roof spoiler. I used blue painters tape to help hold down the spoiler so the 3M tape adhesion works its best. I also installed G35 coupe springs on the front only about a month ago because on the X models the front always sits higher than the back. But now I am noticing the front has settled more with the new springs so I may throw on the rear springs to even it out.

SO here is the update from my last post here a few days ago. I got the car dyno tuned at Z1 MotorSports Thursday.
I have a 2004 G35 AT5, bought the car as a DD last summer. It's taken a life of it's own now and is just as fun to drive as my others cars. I do not have any baseline numbers as the car wasn't supposed to be modded like this. The final numbers are a strong and smooth 255 rwhp and 238 rwtq.
In the next 2 weeks I will be going back for a Re tune. I'm swapping out the HR Y pipe for the wider Megan. Porting the NWP TB to 77mm on both sides and matching the IM neck to 77mm also.
Current mods: 5/16 spacer, 75mm TB, Z Tube, K&N filter, PCV delete, Torque dampner, Test pipes, HR Y-pipe, Tanabe Medalion exhaust, G/Z spring combo, Drill & slotted brakes, new valve cover gaskets, Denso plugs, and new Elite Poly-V belts.

I always read posts in the VQ community about people not running a tune after modifications. Most of it is due to a thought process of power for the money spent.
I normally giggle when I read that. Francisco was smart enough to know that his car wasn't quite right after bolt ons. He was correct. The car was running very lean at WOT but after a quick clean up through Uprev the G is now performing as it should.
Since I didn't do a baseline I was told that 2003-2005 AT5 G35's base at around 225 rwhp / 215 rwtq from shop records. Considering that I dyno'd in at 239 rwhp / 218 rwtq before tune and 255 rwhp / 238 rwtq after, I'm very happy with the investments. The torque jump is what I'm so happy about. I'll keep things updated as I go.
