Does 2016 DVD update work on G35 2004 navigation?
Hi please anyone knows if the latest 2016 navigation DVD update would work on a G35x sedan 2004 model. On http://infiniti.navigation.com the latest they say for 2004 model is from 2013-dvd v 6.11.
Thanks a lot.

Instead of spending some coin on a CD that'll expire in a few years. just get one of those phone holders for your car and use its GPS, usually way more accurate and free. If they stop saying that it works for your model year, I doubt it'll work.
The 2004 navigation uses version 6 software, which they continue to update. So yes, it will work.
2006 and up uses version 7 software, so 2006 sedans and 2006-2007 coupes use a slightly different GPS interface, but Infiniti continues to update them.
Buy the disk if you want, but to be honest the factory GPS sucks. Stick your cell phone in a mount and use Waze or another app. Leaps and bounds better than the factory GPS system. I don't think I've used mine in the last 3-4 years.

Thank you guys. Yes you are right about it sucks.
Not sure if I've got it right. The last update they list and sell as ok right now is a version from 2013 and it comes with 2 dvds one for software which updates it to version 6.11 and second dvd-the actual map. I've emailed them same question as here and they referred only the 2013 version. I can't really see the 2016, which is a higher version, working on a 2004 navigation version 6, but I was thinking maybe there is a workaround so I can buy the later but I guess that's not possible. Thanks
So probably I'll stick with my phone...

It is still nice to have tho if you're ever in remote areas. I would use my phone always if you're just trying to find random addresses, but if you have no service you have no GPS, which really is when you want GPS. In the grand canyon I couldn't use my phone, but my cars nav still worked.

Its just the input of addresses on the OEM navi that i hate.
I have 6.11 GPS if needed.

I misunderstood.
6.11 is the last update. The GPS won't run any of the newer versions.
