Revier Mirror Covers

Greetings All!

I recently purchased some mirror covers made by Revier, a company in Japan and I wanted to do a quick review. These covers do not snap on so you will have to dissemble your factory mirrors, however the fitment was perfect. All of the mounting points lined up just like the oem covers. They even included a wire harness for the puddle light, park and turn signal. I ordered them pre painted and the color matched perfectly. Shipping only took three days. Ordering was a little difficult because I can’t read Japanese but google chrome translator helped. You can order the park light in 3 colors, white, blue and amber, however no matter what park light color you chose it will blink amber. They have a little bump on the lens which I like because it matches my side markers. There are six leds for the turn signal, one facing the front, two on the side and three in the back. When you turn off your turn signal there is a two second delay before the park light comes back on. I wired the puddle light to come on when i unlock the car and man are these things are bright. Cost, well they where about $320 shipped to the US but the price fluctuates daily. Below is the link where I purchase them from and some pic's of the mirror cover on my car.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 5. The hardest part was separating the mirror from the housing. I wish I had taken pictures but it was kind of hard to do alone.

Tools- Philips screwdriver, Flathead screwdriver/pry tool, 10mm socket and heat gun

First you need to remove the mirrors from the door. Pop off the aluminum/wood trim on the door and remove the two ten millimeter bolts. Next remove the bolt by the door handle; it’s under a little cap. The rest of the door panel is held in by clips. Start prying the panel from the bottom, near the light. Once all of the clips are out, lift the door panel upwards and disconnect the lock, window switches, etc. Once the door panel is off, remove the tweeter assembly. There should two plastic clips at the bottom and a pressure clip up top. After getting that out you should then see the 3 10mm bolts that hold the mirror on. Remove the bolts and disconnect the plug.

Now that the mirror is off, the fun can begin. You need to loosen the glue that holds the mirror onto the housing. Start by heating up the mirror with the heat gun which took about a minute. Once the mirror is hot enough it should fall out. I used an old credit card to lift the mirror once it was hot. My mirrors are heated so I had to disconnect the two leads attached to it. Place the mirror face down and try to save as much glue as possible. You should then see a philip screw in the middle of the back plate which needs to be removed. Once the back plate is removed you should see another 4 philips screws that hold the motor assembly in. Remove those and the remaining 5 which are attached to the base. Note you will only see 3 goldish color screws at first. You can access the two silver ones after the base is loose. You should now be able to see the connector that plugs into the motor assembly. Unclip that and you should be able to remove all of the components. Place everything in the new shell and reverse the order. There is plenty of space to run all of the wires through the factory base and grommets so everything will look oem. Leave a little extra wire in the mirror so when you fold them in the wires won’t pull. To reinstall the glass, heat the backing plate back up and gently press the glass back in. I ran the credit card around the edge until it was back in place. I did not use any extra glue and it has held up fine. If the glue gets on the mirror or the cover you can clean it with goo gone later. Reattach the mirror to the car and run the wire. For the puddle light, the two black wires, I tapped into the key ring light as it turns on when I unlock the car and fade off when started, just like the dome lights. For the turn signal/ park light I ran those up front through the fender. Blue was park, green was turn, and purple was ground. The mirrors came with all the necessary wiring and quick release connectors for all of the lights. Reassemble the door and start the other side.

Thank you for the in depth description, it brings a touch of class to the Infiniti that the factory never offered!
