Driver seat goes back every time the car turns off: Help!

Basically every time the engine turns off, the seat moves backwards. It was doing this for a few weeks then the power seat gear broke, so we did a replacement of the gear. The forward/backwards works now but the seat still resets. Is it maybe trying to reset to a profile (I've never knowingly set one, and I am not even sure if there is a profile set feature)? Can I disable automatic seat moving? Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is very annoying!

It's an '04 G35x Sedan

Thanks!

AUTOMATIC DRIVE POSITIONER (if so equipped)
AUTOMATIC DRIVE POSITIONER OPERATION
The automatic drive positioner system has two features:
Entry/exit function (only available on models equipped with automatic transmission)
Memory storage

ENTRY/EXIT FUNCTION
This system is designed so that the driver’s seat and steering column will automatically move when the automatic transmission selector lever is in the P (Park) position. This allows the driver to get into and out of the driver’s seat more easily. (This feature is not available on models equipped with manual transmission.)
The driver’s seat will slide backward:
When the key is removed from the ignition switch.
When the driver’s door is opened with the key turned to LOCK.
When the key is turned from ACC to LOCK with the driver’s door open while the automatic transmission selector lever is in the P (Park) position.

The driver’s seat will return to the previous position:
When the key is inserted into the ignition switch.
When the driver’s door is closed with the key turned to LOCK.
When the key is turned from ACC to ON while the automatic transmission selector lever is in the P (Park) position.

...also:
CANCEL SWITCH
When the CANCEL side of the switch (bottom left on driver's seat) is pushed, the automatic drive positioner system will not function.
When the AUTO side of the switch is pushed, the system will function.
