Y Pipe Issue

So when I bought my 03 Sedan a few months ago, the guy who owned it before me had a muffler delete done on it. Paired with the short ram, the car doesn't sound bad at all. I was looking at putting a Y Pipe in, but when they did the muffler delete, they only left one pipe rather than 2. Could I still install a Y Pipe? Also, how much louder would my car get? I'm more interested in the power gain rather than noise.

I think you may be confused on where a Y pipe is installed. The exhaust goes likes this
Exhaust manifold > Catalytic converters > Y pipe > Mid Pipe > Axle back/Muffler. So you should still be able to install a y pipe.

Y-pipe is a 2-to-1 piece, so only having one pipe should be fine, but I could be misunderstanding what you mean. The y-pipe from VQ35HR equipped cars is supposed to be the least restrictive if you're looking for an OE upgrade, but either way there isn't much power to be gained through cat-back exhaust mods. For bolt-on power you'd be better off getting high flow cats or a plenum spacer.
