The Dealer also drilled 2 holes in my front bumper to mount the license plate....even after I requested that it NOT be mounted. I was/am NOT happy! Even better....when they screwed the license place onto the bracket, they apparently pressed so hard that the license plate screws added 2 swirl/scrapes into the front bumper.

Interestingly, this exact same thing happened when I bought my IS300. I demanded they fix the mistake and Lexus complied by having the bumper repaired. I could ALWAYS tell that the front bumper paint did not look as good as the rest of the car. I don't want the same problem on my G35. So I haven't demanded a repair on this car.
As of November 2004 Nissan stepped in and said that every car must have a front plate bracket installed while on the lot and when sold. If the customer wants to remove it more power to em.
Why? Its a catch 22. Nissans position is to avoid possibile legal problems because customers would get tickets for no front plate and said the car never had one, strike against the selling dealer for not installing the bracket originally. Now if they did install it originally the customer is mad because maybe they didnt want it.
Dont worry guys...everytime I do one I crindge as I drill into a bumper of a car with no miles on it.
