How to change a camshaft sensor

is it necessary to disconnect the battery before you try to change them? I watched a couple of YouTube diy and it varies from people who disconnect their battery and people who dont

Anytime you work with electrical anything you should always disconnect the power cable ... just in case.

I didn't when I changed both sensors on my 04' & 05' cars. The camshaft sensors are connected to the ECU which has no power until keyed on. But if you want to reprogram all of your radio stations and such go for it

Even though you don't really need to, might as well so it resets the computer.
