Thanks Cleric as always!
I'm heading to Toronto for the week, but will look into parts and will tackle this when back.
I'm not going to deal with the O2 code until the crank sensor code is clear.

I suspect when the crank sensor completely goes, the car will go into limp mode?

When the crank sensor completely goes the car won't even start. You will have a no fuel / no spark condition on startup.

No fuel injection, you will still have pressure but the injectors won't open.

P0037 is bank1 sensor 2, that's the downstream sensor further down the pipe, mounted on the catalytic converter. Make sure to inspect the wiring harness and wires, sometimes debris can hit them or if they're routed improperly they can melt.

Quick update
Went to the wrecker today and grabbed a new Crankshaft pos sensor - i wanted to ensure it wasn't wiring from the motor swap.
Swapped in the new (used) sensor, cleared codes, took it for a rip down the highway and it was good as new.
No hesitation, no lights (slip, VDC, CEL, etc). At the time of the crankshaft code, it also threw an O2 sensor code; i suspect they were related, as it hasn't come back yet...

thanks everyone!

spoke too soon on the o2...still throwing the p0037, thankfully the crankshaft code is gone.
I got under the car and metered the resistance on the 2 white wires, its an open circuit...so she done.
Also saw some sketchy previous work, someone looked to have extended (or maybe it was cut) the wires and simply twisted them together and covered it with shrink tube...however never applied heat to it, so I can just slide it over.

All-well, off to look for a new sensor, NTK probably.

So looking at O2 sensors on rock
- NTK is $81 - with 60 days warranty
- Delphi - $75 - 12month warrany
- no Bosch for downstream bank 1 listed

It listed NTK as OE, any thoughts on if warranty should be a concern?

I would not be worried with warranty with NTK. They are my go to for plugs and O2's and for that matter, anything else they provide a part for. Good products.
