VQ35HR in 2006 G35x?

Hello, I know a lot of similar questions have been asked about this but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I'm looking to replace the motor in my 2006 g35x, , due to some issues it's having. Warranty will pay for half of it.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to source any random vq35hr and drop it into the G35x. All the other threads seemed to only talk about coupes or the RWD version sedans.

Thanks for any help.

Different electronics, different transmission bolt pattern. It's a project.

Would be easier to have a donor car for all of the parts. If you are going auto you will want to stay with 07-08 and hack the 07'-08' harness to work with the older dash and Uprev the newer ECU. I have honestly thought about the swap myself but found it easier to turbo or just buy a HR car. 4 PSI with a turbo or blower on a VQ35DE would probably equal a newer VQ35HR power output.
