Time for tires on my 04 Sedan.. Thinking I'm going to run the same size front and rear for ease of rotation. Need quiet all season tires. Currently have 8.5x19 Forte rims front and rear. The Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 2's that came with the car were very sticky but way too noisy. You would swear the wheel bearings are gone in the front.(New front wheel bearings last weekend)Tire size on the car now are 245/40/19 front and 245/45/rear. What size and brand should I be looking at?

Those Sport 2's aren't a great tire for a DD since they're maximum wear is less than 10K miles, if you're lucky! You could check with www.therirerack.com for their suggestions but I never followed the advice they gave me! Originally Posted by Pbfoot

I love my Michelin Pilot super sports or a few members swear by BFG's! You want a tire with at least a UTQG (wear rating) of 300 for decent mileage! If you're running factory wheels you can run 245/40X19 on all four corners without issues!Good Luck & Enjoy the ride...Gary

Gary, what is the road noise like on your super sports? I'm currently running 20" Falken Azenis FK510's. I LOVE the handling in both wet and dry environments; I have nothing but positive things to say about the performance of the rubber. However, at only 15,000 km into them (with rotations every 6,000 km and ensuring proper inflation) I've found them to be rather loud. I'm aware that you're going to have to deal with a stiffer, louder ride at the trade off of high performance. How would you rate the noise level of the super sports? What is the typical distance you get out of the usable tread?

Goodyear Eagle Sport A/S. Quiet, pretty good grip, great in the rain, zero issues driving in the snow on the way to Vegas in February. Getting 45-50k miles out of a set on my Accord, at 30k miles on my G35 looks like they will get that kind of mileage too. Running 235/50/17 on my G35 (stock wheels) so my speedometer is still right on.
