Leaking Valve Cover
Leaking Valve Cover
2004 G35 Sedan. About 2 months ago, I took the upper plenum, fuel rails, etc. off to replace a knock sensor and harness. While I was in there, I noticed some oil in a couple of spark plug tubes, so I ordered new valve covers. Put the new valve covers on, torqued bolts in order and to spec, and put everything back together. All has seemed fine up to now. Occasional check for leakage and did not see any. Until today, when I crawled under the car to do a drain and fill of the transmission fluid. There is oil leaking on the driver side, looks like from the back side of the valve cover. Not enough to drip on the ground, but enough to get oil on areas underneath. Is there any remedy here or do I have to take it all apart again and, possibly, put another new cover or gasket on?
Thanks
Thanks
I used RTV on the front corners per the manual, but did not apply any to the rear. Good point on the cam position sensor. I just got a code on the one on the driver side a few weeks ago and replaced it. If it is leaking, can I put anything on it? It just screws down with one bolt.
