Hey guys, the other day i drove a 04 g35x for sale for $4500 with 150 000 kilometers. He said it needed a new control arm which im not too worried about, but he said it had an exhaust leak. Whenever i accelerated, there was a weird rattling type noise that sounded like it was inside the cabin, kinda near the steering wheel or around there and he claimed it was the exhaust leak. Im wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and if that is actually the exhaust or maybe just rattling on the interior, or hopefully not something worse.

 

A lot of these cars have heat shields over the exhaust components which come loose and start rattling. Google G35 heat shield rattle and u will get a bunch of results.
