03 G35 Sedan Transmission Dipstick
03 G35 Sedan Transmission Dipstick
Yo, i have a 03 Sedan, it was one of the earlier models that didnt include a fluid level gauge with the dipstick tube. Ive done a good amount of research and am also a tech at a nissan in Louisville, KY. Theres a special tool required J45475A, thats required to set the fluid level on the early models. Ive been looking for a work-around for this because the tool is meant to be a dealer tool and because of that it costs 500~$. It seems none of my boys at the other nissan shops have the tool either (go figure) and i dont have any connections with the INFINITI guys. Is there a known work-around? Am i being oblivious? If so id appreciate some help boys, point me in the right direction💜
Thanks man, i figured this out like 5 mins after posting, also figured out this is a common issue/question. Sorry for the 100th post about it lol
I did, a 350z one technically, i wasnt sure wether any other ones would fit, i figured why would they make the exact same dipstick just not add the fluid level gauge. Thanks for the reply man💜
Yeah that's one of life's great mysteries, why Nissan made the useless dipstick on the early RE5R05A transmission. To date no one has been able to figure this out, Nissan doesn't know, no one knows.
My guess is Nissan figured that people buying a luxury car were never going to check their own tranny fluid?
Or somewhere in the Infiniti brand launch and parts interchange design some engineer literally forgot to draw the bottom half of the dipstick because he didn't have the correct spec length for it, and by the time parts got pushed into production it was just overlooked and they accidentally made 100k of these things and that was that.
I think it was just 2003-2004.5 that had this issue.
