Smile P1757 Transmission error

Hi G35 community. I'm a new member and so far love this place. I found a lot of good information about the transmission problem I am experiencing but need some advice from the community. I have a 2006 G35X with 175k miles and recently the transmission pooped out. It goes into limp/safe mode within a few blocks of driving. Also, it started shifting hard when stopped and you move the shifter into Drive or Reverse. It's giving codes P1757 and C1143, though I feel that C1143 is unrelated and may have been caused by a huge pothole I hit a week before C1143 popped up. So I took the car to AAMCO and they quoted me 6k to rebuild the transmission. I have babied this car, especially the transmission since it was new. My first transmission flush was at 25k miles and since then I have either flushed or drain and refilled it every 20-25k since. I have always used Nissan Matic S or J. My last drain/refill was a month ago and I did notice that the mechanic overfilled it a bit. The level on the dipstick is about 1-2" above the HOT mark. Not sure if this had anything to do with it. So my research on here shows that it may be a contact issue on the TCM or a bad solenoid on the valve body. A new valve body is 1.2-1.5k plus another 1k to install. The problem is if this doesn't fix the problem it's 2.5k down the drain. What do you all think given the age and mileage on this car?
1. Should I sell or junkyard the car? Besides the tranny it works fine for its age. A/C, Heat, and electronics, all work. It does burn some oil like many other G's but drives great and the engine still has a lot of power.
2. Rebuild the tranny for 6K? Not sure it's worth it since the value of the car is much less than that.
3. Replace Valve body/tcm and take the risk that it may not fix the problem?

Thank you all for your help!

Check this thread out, probably broke that pin on the TCM https://g35driver.com/forums/drivetr...p1759-fix.html

That code is probably causing the C1133 code from the ABS/VDC computer which basically is saying "There are six pieces of data I need from the ECM and TCM that I need but one of them is missing".

Thanks Cleric I had seen that one and many more where you provided some great insight. Really appreciate all your expert advice. As for the C1143 code, not sure if it's related since I have also noticed that my steering wheel is slightly offset when driving straight. That's why I think it was the pothole. Who knows. The good news is I found a good transmission shop and will be taking it to them for a diagnosis. From their experience, they believe it's the Valve body or TCM. Let's hope it's nothing more serious.

Ok, one of those six pieces of data it needs is the steering angle sensor. You probably should schedule an appointment at Nissan to have your alignment corrected and your steering angle sensor recalibrated.

If the steering wheel isn't pointed straight that's a pretty good indicator the sensor is sending bad data. I would focus on the transmission first though.

Are you rebuilding it? If yes, then how is the progress?

I'm happy to report that the transmission shop fixed the issue. It was the valve body. Also did an alignment and the C1143 code hasn't returned. Prior to doing the alignment, I replaced a bad compression rod which I believe was causing the misalignment.
