Stuck front seat
2003 sedan? Fuses 9, 12 and 21 in the fusebox by the drivers left leg are all involved so check those. There is also a "black box" control unit under the drivers seat. And ... if you hear the motors but the seat isn't moving then you may have lost one of the plastic drive gears.
All the other setting work except the 1st one that moves it forward and backwards. It did this once before but worked a few days later. Any suggestions? Someone said bad switch motor.
my money is on a bad switch. so common. lots of threads about bad seat switches on here. you can sometimes find used ones on ebay. it's possible to take yours apart and clean up the contacts too. there are diy threads with pictures that show you how to do it. i lost a spring when trying to reassemble mine and had to buy replacement switches. it's happened to all my 06 switches at some point. forward/back and incline/recline on both sides. used switch assemblies seem to be getting rarer and more expensive on ebay. quick search showed some cheap aftermarket replacements for some variety of G35 and 350Z on aliexpress. might be worth a try if you can't get a good used oem replacement for reasonable money on ebay. good luck.

I was able to find the switch on EBay. The driver seat are is in the front position. I was able to get the back bolts loose but the fronts are almost impossible to reach. Does anyone know how to reverse the polarity to get the seat to back up? The only button not working is the 1st button which controls the forward and backwards function.

Or you could tap into the 2 thick wires going into the motor. Those are the power wires that make it work. Just disconnect the harness and apply pos/neg power to the terminals on the motor. U can reverse the connections to move it in the other direction. But if your motor is shot, this wont work, obviously.
Mine did the same thing and it turned out to be a dirty connection in the switch.
I took some WD-40 and sprayed it in the switch, then moved it back and forth a few time and it started working again.
