I need to make it quieter - and I'm afraid I might make it worse - ending up sounding like one of those rice-racers. Doesn't that high internal muflfler sound annoy anybody - when driving with all windows up??
Hmmm Quite exhaust.... Yep stillen is the one you want

I don't think you could quite down the exhuast without losing power... Best of luck tho...

"buy a camry". not a cool reply. check out the thread for a couple laughs.

anyways, a couple of people were helpful. one suggested a resonator, another recommended to dynamat my car. personally, the resonator seems like a simple and logical choice.
I can't always be cool or say the right thing.....BUT, this was a "tongue in cheek reply" to a question that I found "thumb in butt". We're still cool aren't we Corinth? . Ya gotta remember that....ah....I forgot JBX

Sometimes threads like these confuse me. Didn't you drive the car before you bought it? I drove the G 3 times before I bought one ( I was sold after the first time though). I think it is kinda like saying that you don't like the color. Not trying to flame anyone here, but I think it seems silly to buy something and then decide you don't like it.

Jesus - you guys talk about the G35 like it's a Porsche. It's a G35 Sedan. Very nice car - that's why I bought it!! So I want the interior / cabin noise to be quieter. If you don't know how to decrease interior/cabin noise - please don't reply. Thanks.

Quieter exhaust

Hey. Sometimes when you buy a car the overwhelming good attributes out weigh the not so good. In your case the not so good is the exhaust note. I can tell you that the 2003.5 O.E. exhaust is not as loud as the 2005 O.E. exhaust. I know this after a test drive of a 2005 G sedan four months ago. I remember thinking--I wish my 03.5 sounded like this. I have had 2005 loaners that have reconfirmed this. You may want to test drive a pre-owned 2003 G sedan with an O.E. exhaust. If it is quieter for you, which I suspect you will agree, you can probably order a 2003 G sedan exhaust. Call infiniti parts and inquire. Hope this helps.

BTW, I wish I had a switch for exhaust with settings for stock, medium, and LOUD AS HELL. That way I can set it to my mood. L8r

I think there is no way the stock muffler is loud, what you are mostly hearing is the engine sound.

Since the coupe mide-pipe is an exact fit on the sedan, would anyone know if the reverse is possible ? Perhaps this is all you need. The sedan is alot quieter than the coupe and performs almost as well with this particular mid-pipe.
