I have a 2003 6Mt with about 12k on it. I have noticed that it has a slight rattling sound at idle and it can also be heard at times while revving or accelerating with the window open. It is not an obnixoius sound but for a practically new car its idle sounds more erratic than my 93 300ZX TT. I am particular about these things and have thought about just bringing it to the dealer but they will probably laugh. Anyone else have this "loose" idle noise, it does seem to be more pronounced with the climate control on but it doesn't totally go away with it off. It does hold a very steady idle and runs well but the sound annoys me and I wonder if it is something that needs to be addressed. Thanks for any help.

 

This seems to be the case for a lot of 6MT Gs and Zs and the dealerships say the noise is "normal". Most likely it's the throw out bearing.
