Mr. Clean AutoDry?

Anyone use this? How does it work out? It's supposed to eliminate the need for drying your car.

I have been using this product for several months now and am very happy with it. I used to use my leaf blower to dry my car. That worked VERY well, no streaks or spots. It also got me some funny looks from neighbors. The Mr Clean system really does work!
It is, however, a bit more expensive as you need to use their water filter and soap.

It takes longer than an old fashioned wash and dry, and if you go to www.properautocare.com/bigbludryint.html, you can get the Big Blue II microfiber weave towels which will dry your entire car in just 4 minutes. In addtion, the Mr. Clean AutoDry's soap and filter gets used up very quickly. BTW - if you have a dark color car like me (I have a black G35) and live in a warm climate (I'm in S. Florida), you may not want want to use the Mr. Clean AutoDry product as it tends to leave a white filmy residue which bakes into your car's finish. I had to have my car rewaxed and buffed just to get that crap out...I would NOT recommend this product. It's a waste of $$, imo! Trust me...just get the Big Blue II towels and you'll be all set. I've had mine now for 8 months (after several washes in the washing machine) and still loving them!! I dry my car totally spot free in 4 minutes with just 1 Big Blue II towel...can't beat that!

I use the Mr. Clean product and it works as advertised. Thing is you have to be quite generous when it comes to the part where you spray the car with the filtered water. Time wise it probably doesn't save a whole lot of time over conventional towel drying. Just expend less energy. bsgoren, thanks for the Big Blue towel tip. I'll have to try that one out. The Absorber towel hasn't impressed me that much of all the times I've used it.

Yeah, I think the Mr. Clean autodry isn't too good with darker cars where water spots can be more apparent. Either that or you have to spend extra time on the filtered water cycle.

the trick with the absorber is that you have to completely ring out the towel in order for it too be effective again...and instead of wiping, you unfold it all the way out and pull the towel...tats how it absorbs...those are the two tricks..

the hardest part is too ring it competely out

I don't have experience with the Absorber towel, but the Big Blue II towel is just phenomenal; no wringing it out and it takes very little energy to go over the car...it just absorbs all the water without leaving any streaks or water spots. It takes no time...like I said, I dry my car completely with 1 Big Blue II towel in just 4 minutes. A set of 2 of the Big Blue II towels is $35 and lasts a long time (as you just wash them with a mild detergent in the washing machine on gentle cycle). I think these towels make the Mr. Clean AutoDry system completely obsolete, considering it does a better job in 1/2 the time and you don't have to keep buying special car wash soap and filters like with the Mr. Clean system.

Since this has all been discussed before, do a search on G35Driver.com...Trust me when I say you would be much happier spending $35 for 2 Big Blue II towels from www.properautocare.com. I've told many ppl on G35Driver.com about these towels (after someone else on G35Driver.com recommended the towel to me) and everyone agrees they are awesome!

Thanks for the info on the Big Blue II. I have tried Mr. Clean and found him to be Mr. Filmy. The system leaves behind a residue and seems to be quite the waste of cash.
