Unhappy squeaky sound in rain

When I start my 2003.5 (22000 miles) sedan in rainy/snow days, a loud squeaky noise comes from under hood. I'm not sure what causes it, some belts or generator? It can last hours. In dry days, it does not sound as badly.
anyone have similar problems? ideas? thanks

So the squeaky noise only happen when you start your G? If so, maybe squeaky belt. Just ask the dealer to check it, but i think they will just say its "normal" lol.

Definately the belts. They have to be changed once a year. One of the bugs of the car.

I'm not sure about the once a year thing. I'd bet that belt tension is the culprit if you are changing belts that often. Once new belts are installed, they will stretch out a little. So it is a good idea to check belt tension every 6 months or so. If a belt is slipping, a glaze will form where the belt contacts the pulleys. That glaze is what causes belts to slip even more in damp weather causing that squealing noise. Have the belt tension checked first. If the belts are over 3 years old, replace them.
