Weatherstripping around rear window?

Forgive me if this is a question with an obvious answer, but I noticed something today while washing my '05 sedan that's got me a little puzzled. There's no external weatherstripping around the outside of the rear window. Every other Nissan/Infiniti product I've owned had 3/4" plastirubber weatherstripping around the outside edge of the rear window.

On my car, there's just an open 1/8" gap all the way around the window. I'm sure this is by design -- the water seal is just inside the gap, I presume. I'd appreciate it if someone could verify this for me.

I love it, it's a very clean look without the weather stripping.

Yeah, I like it too. One less thing to fade, peel, harden and unstick over time.

BEK27, why did your dealer install another one for you? Did you ask for it? I don't see the point.

I had brought mine to the dealer for 7.5k maintenance and mentioned the wind noise at the rear windows and they are ordering parts to have it replaced, I didn't even check it theres supposed to be one on.
