Adjusting Seats

For the third time since I've had my G, the auto positioning didn't work. I'm not sure the right name for it, but you know when you get in and out of your car and the seat goes back/forward and the steering column goes up/down. Well today, when I entered my car and turned on the engine, my seat did not adjust, it stayed in the back position and the steering column didnt go down, this is the third time its happened, and I have to press the #1 button on the side to have it adjust. Has this happened to anyone else? Or is it something I should have the dealer fix?

My 2001 Pathfinder does that occasionally.

I haven't got a clue why.

Unfortunately, since I opted for a 6MT, I don't even have that feature, even though I have the button for it on the side of the seat.

Do you have children? I can't tell you how many times that's happened and it's because my son's in the garage pressing buttons.

I have no children, I am the only one who drives it, and I don't push buttons, haha. I have no clue as to why it does this, but if it happens again soon, I might just take it to the dealer to have a look.

I don't have my 2005 yet (taking delivery next Saturday ) but our Jaguar has the same feature. In the Jaguar, if you tap the telescopic steering wheel controls or the seat controls before the car's started, it won't move them either.

Perhaps you're brushing against the controls on the inner bolster?

Maybe Infiniti has taken the BMW target too far and has designed their cars to emulate this wondrous BMW trait.

That was definatly me when I was a kid Always shifting my mom's manual transmission on her '86 Honda Prelude while it was parked in the garage.

Are you sure you did not quickly turn the ignition on/off to close a window or something?
If you have not programmed your preferred position, then it will use the last position in memory...

My 2005 did this once since I got it about 2 weeks ago. The steering wheel went down just a tiny bit and the seat hardly moved. I could also turn the engine on but no movement. After manually adjusting and driving to go get some food with my friend, came back, started the car and no problems ever since. Sorry, not much help, but your not the only one

I think it happened to me twice, but once it was because I had adjusted it diffferently. When I pushed the memory switch it came back. But, you are not alone.
