MP3 options for 03.5 sedan w/ bose
Just wondering if anyone has advice for easiest/cheapest way to be able to play mp3 on the stereo? Sorry, I am really uneducated regarding this and I am not sure what questions to even ask...
Thanks,

I am using a Belkin FM transmitter...its not that good. I have a Creative Zen Xtra 60g. I have heard the tape player set is much better but I am a bit leary due to tape player pulling the wire in. IPOD crap works with most all other MP3 players
Best way is to use phat box or the new iCruze, but cheapest and easiest is FM transmitter or cassette adapter. I'm currently using mp3 unit with tape cassette adapter (CD player has the good old CD ERROR FO jam issue
). One of the problems with using FM is frequency interference which you don't get with cassette.

If your MP3 player has a line-out jack and you opt for the the cassette adapter, I would recommend purchasing a cassette adapter with a mini-plug (2.5mm) that connects into the line-out jack instead of the headphone jack. The reason being that this will allow you to control the volume using the volume control(s) on the radio instead of the MP3 player. I also found the sound quality to be better with the line-out jack.

If you have the SAT button and no satellite receiver try this out.
www.logjamelectronics.com look for the PAC AAI-NIS.
This plugs into the 10 pin connector at the back of the radio. You get (2) inputs to plug into. I haven't purchased this yet for my Zen Micro, but I'm planning on it soon. It's only $99.

OR, you could go all the way with the carputer method:

i've tried both FM modulator and cassette tape adapter with my iPod
the FM mod had much better sound quality then the cassette, but imo both suck equally
i own a 03 without SAT ready, i cant even convert the SAT into an AUX..... which suck big times.

C Crane sells an FM modulater that is good for car or elsewhere. FCC regulates the signal strength, so the internal signal is set low. However, there is a simple mod to crank up the setting and boost the signal significantly. This overcomes any nearby station fade or bleed as you travel. You can also tuck the modulator and player in the center console and let a playlist run for hours. IMHO, much better than cassette. When I use it at work, everyone in the office near mine can tune into the set I'm playing, too. Still not as clean as a direct digital connection, but it is a very simple and out-of-sight solution.

can you search through songs in the head units display with that? i think that would be great unless you are looking for song 172 on disc 4.....
hmmm, i wanna listen to Dave Matthews Band's #41.
i cant remembwe what disc it is on.
hmmmm
then when you remember it is on disc 2, how will you find the song, without scrolling through and sampleing each song?
