Being a Left-Coaster, and in the SF bay area, I would say that Chevron has a big part of the market. They seem to have a station every couple of blocks.

I've always used their gas ... their claim to fame (and a higher price) is that their gas supposedly has all of those special cleaners and additivies that are good for the injectors????

Is there a difference between Exxon & Mobil? I generally use their 93 octane.

Can't get better than Chevron with Techron..I heard Techron(their gas additive) is the only scientifically proven gas additive. ?anyone else hear about something like that?

There was a post in here from an engineer that worked for one of the oil companies and he basically stated that 91 octane would be perfect for the VQ engine and that the additives and higher octanes really were'nt worth the $$. I'd do a search because the info was really spot on. Peace.

Whichever name brand is cheapest when my guage says "E". There are three on the corner near my house.. Chevron, Exxon, and Mobil. I usually hit the Exxon because the Chevron is a penny more and the Mobil is a nickel more. Unless I'm late for work, then it's the Mobil because I don't have to fight my way through the lights twice. Either way, they both take the same SpeedPass.

Safeway or Costco if I can

If I am not near a Safeway or Costco I go to Chevron. Safeway and Costco are usually $.10 cheaper per gallon. I know that .10 only adds up to a $2 savings per 20 gallons, but it makes me feel better.

I use Chevron, but I hear 76 gas is better for performance. Anyone else?

The two I use aren't in the poll. Union 76 and Valero.
