Actually, the rule of thumb is that you double the 60' change for the 1/4 ET difference. In other words, a 60' time that is .2 quicker will yield a 1/4 mile ET about .4 quicker! As hard to believe as this is, I've seen it in several cars I've run at the drags.

From my experience, it seems to be ~.15 for every .10 you shave in 60'. This applied to my 94 Z28, to my 96 Maxima, and now to my G35. My first pass ever in the G35 was a 14.65@97.5mph with a 2.33 60'. The very next hot lapped pass was a 14.49@97.6mph with a 2.21 60'. The 60' difference was .12 and the change in ET was .16. Trap speeds were all the same the entire way down the track. That's just my cars though
