Music formats for the stereo?

If I download music to play in my car, what file formats will the stereo handle? Only MP3? I have an 05 sedan. I think it's the standard radio system, although I have Sirius.

Thanx!

You think you have the base system? You're not sure what you bought?

Okay...

Anyway - your manual says MP3 or WMA. I personally use HQ VBR MP3. Look at page 4-19 (Infiniti's online manual) for the specifics..

Dunno - never tried it. I burn all mine using Nero (with CD TEXT) and do all my tagging with Tag & Rename..

I use iTunes only for loading my iPod.. Thinking about switching to a 3rd party app though - iTunes is slow, cumbersome and presumes to know more about what I'm trying to do than I do - it annoys me sometimes.

If you use iTunes to burn an audio CD, it will play. If you just copy m4a files to a data CD, it will not.

True that. I should have been more specific. I use Nero to burn MP3 CDs, not CDA.

Can't remember the last time I made a CDA format CD..

YES ... iTunes burned CDs work just fine. I have ripped most of my CDs in 160 VBR and burned CDs (usually collections) and work great ('03 premium Bose). Usually burned CD's work in 97% of players.

Some one posted that iTunes is slow ... I think it is fast enough. Plus it is easy to compile a collection. I used to use exact audio copy, which is an excellent program but was slower than iTunes.

Bose plays MP3's also ?? sweet ........:-)

Need to read my manual again...

03 Bose

Update: I burned a CD with all of Don Henley singles this morning. Played in the car. The Cd was not rejected and played but there was no sound. I could see the time go 0:01, 0:02 ....but NO SOUND. Huh !! Then took the CD to work and sounds fine in the computer.

Am I missing something here ??

I used Nero 6.0 to burn the MP3 CD.

Man if I can get this thing to work....sweet. I'll put around 100 songs in a CD, 6 CDs in the player ... 600 songs... that's a lot of songs, but a portion of my iTunes collection....
